Cook book review - How it all Vegan

There's nothing better than going to the library and hearing the words, "we've got a book in for you".  My local library has requested some random vegan cook books for me, so I have no idea what's been ordered.

One of the best sources of recipes for a dairy free diet is still vegan cookbooks.  Specialised cook books on Food intolerance or Allergy are more general and the recipes are usually FREE FROM everything, not just dairy.

How it all Vegan was first printed in 1999, and it's still in print over 10 years later.  Which is an indication that it's a good cook book, and overall it is.  It has lots of  basic recipes that are really useful for those of us that can't eat dairy.  Being a vegan cook book it's also ideal for people who are also allergic to eggs.

Negatives -

The start of the cook book was a bit too much information overload for me, on living a vegan life style.  It also doesn't have any photo's of the recipes.

Positives -

The lack of photo's means they were able to pack in more recipes.  The style of the cook book is quirky, who couldn't love a book with recipe titles such as Burnin' Butt Burritos.  There also really well laid out and easy to read.

A lot of the recipes are similar to ones I already make, so I know they work.  Because it's also a vegan lifestyle book they have a section on how to get kids eating dairy free, if they have an allergy or are intolerant.  Lol, my personal fave section is the 45 things to do with vinegar.  You can do more with it than just cooking with it, or sprinkling over your chips.

If your looking for a good basic book on dairy free cooking Id recommend this one.  There's nothing wrong with a good basic book, I still use my Grandmas 1950's Good housekeeping cook book xxx
