Dealing with IBS, and great friends and family

My IBS is still playing up, last night I had to sleep on the couch to get some sleep.  I sleep sitting up with  a hot water bottle on my tum.  This lets me stretch out my legs or draw them up, for some reason it works better than sleeping in my bed.  Iv learnt to just go with it now, but I was really grumpy this morning.  Finding another slug in my kitchen this morning didn't help, I swear there like Ninjas!!! I have no idea how there getting in.  With some people it's spiders, with me it's slugs.  I got out of bed and went to the kitchen in the dark for a drink of water one night and stood on one yuck.  I have no idea what's set off my IBS this time, and sometimes that happens.  It could be combination of food that I ate together that's caused it.  Or it could be because of the downward mood swings I get at this time of year.  Who knows?  Iv found keeping physically active helps.  It takes my mind off the ...

INFO : From research I discovered that if you have had food poisoning or gastroenteritis you are more prone to develop IBS.  All the stress from worrying about my medical last week, added to the fact I forgot to re-order my prescription amitriptyline that I take for my IBS. Is the reason that my stomach is now bloated, uncomfortable and feels as hard...

I.B.S survival Guide

Iv just spent 7 consecutive nights sleeping in my own bed!!! For over 2 years now I haven't been able to have a full nights sleep, due to my IBS.  Iv had bouts of insomnia and difficulty sleeping unless sitting upright on my couch.  Giving up foods that contain dairy, yeast, meat, poultry and watching my sugar intake has finally paid off.  So to celebrate I thought it appropriate to share some of my own IBS survival Tips. PART 1 - ON THE GO - I never leave the house with out.... Bottle of water Small storage container of Peppermint tea bags Small storage container with a home baked snack Packet of tissues MP3 player Mobile phone Brush Book to read WHY? Snack and water - To prevent IBS problems I eat little and often.  When ever I go out  I always bring my own food and drink, as I'm never sure if I'll be able to find some that I'm not intolerant too. Both fluid and food are equally important in stopping stomach spasms.  Iv ...
