10 Dairy free Ways with Chili Peppers
I was given a gift of a Chilli Plant a few months ago. I wasn't totally confident that I could grow any, since I'm not exactly known for my gardening skills. However a few chili's are starting to grow.
I'm not a Chili fanatic, I just love the kick that Chili can add to a recipe. Especially if it complements the other ingredients. I don't really understand why you need to make your food so hot, that you can't really enjoy it. Especially after I accidentally unscrewed the lid of my hot sauce I poured in half a bottle into my soup, instead of a few drops!!!
Since I have food intolerances, Iv focused on dairy free or vegan information.
1. Chili Prep 101 - Using Raw Chili's
Supermarkets are finally starting to stock a range of fresh Chilies in their green grocer section. Being a control freak, I like to research ingredients to find out how to prepare them. It helps reduce my anxiety levels and stops me doing something stupid.
e.g: like rubbing my eyes after Iv diced some Chili.

I always have store cupboard staple foods, for when I'm in a cooking or baking mood. Buying fresh is always best, however it can lead to food waste if you buy to much. Having a basic range of spices and herbs, helps me cut my food waste down. Since they keep a lot longer than fresh ingredients.

Chili Peppers are usually stuffed with cheese, not something you can do when you are lactose intolerant. Vegan cheeses are available but I can't eat them since most are made with yeast extract for flavour.
However cheese is not the only ingredient you can stuff peppers with or into. Don't let not being able to eat an ingredient put you off a recipe. Just leave it out or use something you do like instead.
